Village of Wappingers Falls Brush Pick Up Fall Leaf Collection- The Village Highway Department will pick-up regular Monday curbside grass clippings and brush is scheduled to end on Monday, October 29th.  After that date you can continue to put bagged leaves in bio-degradable paper bags at the curb.  NO PLASTIC BAGS WILL BE ACCEPTED.  The Vacuum truck/loose leaf pickup will start on Tuesday, October 30th and will continue until Friday, November 30th.  These dates are approximate and will depend on the weather conditions.  All loose leaves should be placed at the curb/edge of pavement.  DO NOT PLACE LOOSE LEAVES IN THE STREET.  Do not put brances, limbs, sticks, or any other objects in with the loose leaves-it will break the vacuum machine.  The leaf vacuum will end on Friday, November 30th, so that the trucks can be ready for winter plowing and sanding.  Only bagged leaves will be picked up after November 30th.  Please be patient.  The DPW will get to all residences.  If you have any questions, please call the Highway Garage at 297-9758.  Thank you for your cooperation.

The following are rules and regulations for the Residential Garbage District:

  • Household garbage must be placed in container provided by Royal Carting.

  • Garbage containers can not weigh more than 40 pounds when full.

  • Pick-up is scheduled on Wednesdays. Garbage containers can be put out after 4pm on Tuesday for Wednesday's pick-up.

  • Sanitation containers must be brought in by the following day (Thursday) by 9:00am.

  • Scheduled pick-up is on Wednesdays unless it is one of the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

  • Newspapers must be bundled and at curbside same day as garbage collection day. 

Failure to follow the above rules could result in a summons.

The following are Residential Garbage rates:

  • $36.00 is the Flat rate

  • $25.00 is the Senior rate

  • In order to qualify for Senior Rate you must be 65 years of age and reside in the residence. Proof of age and residence is required to receive this discount.

  • Penalties are assessed at $5.00 per unit per month late.

  • The Residential Garbage bill is a bi-monthly bill. Bills come out February, April, June, August, October & December.
